Character Name: Chihiro Fujisaki
Series: Dangan Ronpa
Age/Gender: Probably about 15? Male.
Canon Point: Post death, chapter 2.
History: Wiki!
Personality:

Chihiro is extremely timid, and would most likely be represented as a rabbit or a mouse. There’s much more than meets the eye, though. As a Super High School Level Programmer, Chihiro is highly intelligent when it comes to numbers and figures and catching small details. This, however, is all Chihiro feels he’s good at. He views himself as weak and insignificant and unable to make friends because of his secret, which is the fact he’s a boy. Since elementary school, due to bullying over his weakness as male, Chihiro switched schools and began presenting as female. Chihiro does not feel like he identifies as female, but he feels "safer" in female clothing because then he won't get picked on your bullied. He's not fond of it, wanting to be strong as opposed to wearing clothes and presenting as a gender "suitable" for his size, but until the events in the game he doesn't know how to overcome it. This is explained through the way the Japanese see male and female weakness and strength, and as a small, weak boy he was picked on relentlessly for not being strong. As a girl, he can be as weak and timid as he is naturally. While the female front saved him from bullying, it’s only made him develop a huge complex over his weakness as a male and protects his secret of being male with his life.

Chihiro is also very prone to tears, crying and flinching when yelled at or intimidated. He only blames this, again, on his weakness as a male and the fact he feels insecure and not masculine only makes him cry harder. Most see him as small and non threatening and that’s quite valued in a place like Hope’s Peak Academy so the ones that notice him are happy to talk, thinking that such a small person couldn't commit murder. Chihiro is very kind and prone to agreeing with what another is saying, not judging them until he knows their true intentions. He isn’t stupid though, and is very keen on keeping things logical and safe, especially when it comes to technology or the safety of himself and those around him This gets him in trouble during the game when he speaks out against Byakuya Togami finally, and it only ends in tears, but he pulls himself back to a cheerful, trusting demeanor a few days later.

Once Chihiro does make friends, he becomes close with them, even to the point of telling one his secret when threatened with the whole school knowing to ease the blow of hearing it announced and hopefully getting stronger. He really trusts those around him, perhaps a little too much, and cares about them a lot. He wants to overcome his complex of feeling weak by finally asking for help and admitting to his true gender. While this does not go as planned, Chihiro would have certainly gotten closer and closer to feeling strong and ready to give up his skirts if things hadn’t gone south. Even as timid and shy as he is, Chihiro really is strong, strong enough to admit his weaknesses to another person and ask for help. This in itself is enough to show how strong he is, even if he never saw it in himself.

While Chihiro is a boy and he would like to stop presenting as a girl and become stronger as a man, he's been presenting as female since elementary school and has since picked up feminine habits, if only to convince others that he is in fact a girl. I especially see this while in high school because he is biologically male and even if he's small and cute, he'll have problems with the changes maturity brings for males, such as voice changing and body hair. Making himself even more focused on more "girlish" activities would make people ignore his more boyish appearance as he gets older. It's all a facade, and he's struggling to keep up.

Chihiro respects, above all, strength. Whether it’s a man or a woman, he envies it and wishes he could become like them. While he knows a woman can be strong, one perfect example of that in game who he does talk to, he’d rather fashion himself off of a strong male, since that’s what he thinks he should be.

Chihiro is extremely intelligent and hardworking, above anything else. While the others looked for a ways out of Hope’s Peak Academy, Chihiro created a learning AI “Alter Ego” programme to help them avoid Monobear’s guns and other torture devices, quietly without anyone realizing he did so until after his death. In this way Chihiro is selfless, expecting no credit for his actions, only hoping that it will be useful and that they can all get out alive.

Special Abilities:

As a Super Duper High School Level Programmer, Chihiro is a genius when it comes to computers and software. That's... about it. He's very weak physically. He's good with numbers and coding. There's evidence in the second game that he's able to build totally-realistic androids. That sort of thing.

How did your character die?

Chihiro was killed by being hit over the head with a dumbbell. Posthumously, he was strung up like that by Byakuya Togami.

First Person:

[After the initial shock of being in yet another place without knowing what had happened or where he was, and after a good long cry about it, Fujisaki Chihiro takes the first available seat he can find and pulls his laptop from his bag to see if he can find a connection. Nothing but his wireless applications and programming material seem to work, sadly, but then a cold feeling shoots through him as he opens the file for ALTER EGO and realizes this wasn't the laptop from home, it was the one he'd taken fro Hope's Peak Academy. The laptop that he'd programmed to help stop Monobear at all costs, if he happened to... be killed. It was here with him, even though he'd left it back in his room. Somehow, he'd ruined everything... or this place had. Most likely it was just Monobear again, but it had Chihiro frozen in place until a small ping rings out from the laptop screen and then a chime of a nearly-human sounding automated voice.]

[ALTER EGO:] Welcome back, papa. Is there something I can help you with today?

[Chihiro pauses, hands trebling over his keyboard and more tears slide down his cheeks.]

Where... are we?

[ALTER EGO:] ... ... ...
[ALTER EGO:] No data found, papa. There seems to be no WiFi in the area, either.

[Chihiro swallows hard, and pulls his handkerchief back out of his pocket.]

Third Person:

Fujisaki Chihiro was a Super High School Level Programmer, who’d been able to take apart his electronic toys at a young age and make them better and more fun. He’d grown up with this talent, able to code ones and zeros faster than anyone had previously, at least in Japan, and had become a sensation when the government bought the use of one of his programmes to use for their business computers. Now his face was on enough iOS boxes to give him a small following, like he was an IDOL, and Chihiro wished more than anything else they hadn’t used his real photo for it, despite him looking like a cute, twelve year old school girl.

Despite the popularity, no one knew he wasn’t. Only his parents did, now that they had moved from a different city and he’d been put into a different school. There he was Fujisaki Chihiro-chan, a cute, shy girl. You couldn’t be a cute, shy boy after all. That made you weak and undesirable. It was much easier this way. It had been this way since the end of primary school, and Chihiro liked it that way. Still… now that everyone knew about him, it scared him more than the bullying had. If his secret got out now, he’d be done for.

When he’d come to Hope’s Peak Academy, he’d almost forgotten about that problem, so focused on the situation the homicidal stuffed bear [source needed] had put them in that he didn’t have time to think. Then they’d been given their first motivation. Chihiro’s hadn’t frightened him as much as some, but it made him so uneasy. He’d began working on a new project, one that would hopefully get them out of Monobear’s clutches soon. Alter Ego he would be called, and he would be just like Chihiro… but strong, like Chihiro wanted to be.

When the first two students died, due to their motivation, Chihiro vowed not to let Monobear’s game effect him again, and he was almost ready to blurt out what it said on his card during the next bit of motivation, the slip of paper that read “Fujisaki Chihiro’s secret is that he is male.” When Kiyotaka Ishimaru suggested that they tell their secrets right away, Chihiro had almost tried to convince everyone too. But he couldn’t. He couldn’t say a word, just gripping the paper tighter and tighter in his hand. Fujisaki Chihiro is male, Fujisaki Chihiro is male. It played over and over, again and again in his mind. It was true, he was male. He was a boy, through and through, but he wasn’t ready to admit that, not to everyone.

Did you read the rules and F.A.Q.?
